A studio for worldbuilders
Languages, maps, an encyclopedia, ecosystems and a timeline for the same world. Every place, word and event links to the rest, and you publish when you're ready.
This is the app itself, the published Atlas of an example world, showing itself off. Click it to take over: open a place, drag the year, or scroll out to the planet.
Sculpt terrain, draw borders and roads, then roll the map into a planet.
Sounds, spelling, grammar and a lexicon, with dialects and whole language families.
Articles for every city, character and secret, filed in nested categories.
Species, biomes and the food webs that hold them together.
Eras, events and your own calendars, pinned to places on the map.
Atlas
Paint land and raise mountains; rivers and lakes follow the terrain. Draw kingdoms, routes and cities, then scroll out and the map rolls into a globe.
Dictionary
Choose your sounds from IPA charts, set spelling rules and generate words that fit. Then age them: ordered sound changes turn a proto-language into its daughters.
Encyclopedia
Write articles from templates for places, characters, items, organizations and events. Hover any mention to preview it, and jump from an article to its place on the map.
Ecology
Species with roles, habitats and scientific names. Connect who eats whom, who pollinates and who competes; biomes wrap around their residents.
Timeline
Eras, events and up to 20 calendars of your own. Every event is an article, and can point to the places on the map where it happened.
Collaborate and publish
Invite editors by email and see who else is in the world. Save named versions, compare them and restore any one. Publishing shares a fixed release, so your next edits stay private. Every preview on this page is a published release like that.

Wren & Quill installs on desktop and phone, and tells you when you're offline instead of losing your place. Unsaved drafts stay in the browser.
Start with a sound, a coastline or a single name. Everything else can follow.
